FEBRUARY 2025 HANDBAG

VELMA TOTE 50

I developed a concept handbag that blends luxury CMF design with everyday function through a modern silhouette. The project explores sketches to detailed CADs, defining proportions, features, and modular versatility. I created multiple colorways supported by full BOMs, giving each version a distinct identity while balancing premium craftsmanship with practical adaptability in an elevated tote design.

Story:

The Velma Tote 50 honors legacy, elegance, and enduring style, named in honor of Giovonni’s late great-grandmother, whose Hermès scarves, Burberry plaids, and Dior handbags first inspired his love for design. More than a functional accessory, the bag serves as a tribute to her taste, grace, and role in shaping a lifelong creative vision.

Designed as a versatile companion, the Velma 50 balances generous scale with soft collapsibility, offering space for daily routines or weekend travel. The structured silhouette ensures presence while remaining easy to store or carry. Refined proportions give the tote a balance of function and timeless polish.

The collection features three distinct material stories: natural buffalo leather with lapis, porcelain, and river blue accents; coated canvas in Bavarian mustard with porcelain and chocolate tones; and monochrome embossed suede in pearl gray. Each variation highlights material innovation, luxury finishes, and color exploration within a single, multifunctional silhouette.
