Link chain wallet

I was tasked with developing a wallet silhouette that reintroduced the classic billfold with a sharper, more expressive attitude resonating with Gen Z while honoring Coach’s legacy. I led concept development and CMF design inspired by early 2000s aesthetics, overseeing hardware molding, tech pack updates, and BOM adjustments to refine proportion, detailing, and modular functionality for a versatile lifestyle staple.

Story:

The Link Chain Wallet reimagines Coach’s signature oval link chain in a smaller scale, transforming a detail usually reserved for larger handbags into a bold wallet statement. Inspired by early 2000s Harley-Davidson chain wallets, the design balances edge and refinement, combining utility with the timeless appeal of Coach’s heritage leather goods.

Crafted in supple pebble leather, the wallet features a Bubble C plaque logo that adds a sophisticated tactile touch. The chain blends hardware and leather for a premium feel, with a dog leash clip on one end and an O-ring on the other. Designed for versatility, it attaches to belt loops, bag interiors, or detaches entirely to serve as a standalone keychain.

Inside, thoughtful organization provides space for bills, cards, and receipts, while a reinforced anchor tab secures the chain attachment. The result is a minimalist yet distinctive wallet that fuses fashion attitude with functional everyday carry.
