Theo backpack

I managed the design and development of a Gen Z–focused backpack that reintroduced Coach’s signature jacquard through everyday utility and material innovation. I helped develop a cotton-based jacquard with a modern outlined repeat and water-resistant performance, guiding the silhouette, color palette, and function. I owned concept sketching, CMF, tech packs, BOM, and factory development to deliver a heritage-inspired, youth-driven design.

The Theo Backpack introduces a new vision for Coach, created as an entry-level silhouette to bring a younger Gen Z audience into the brand through modern utility and signature style. Built with versatility and texture in mind, it establishes a material-driven language that expands across the broader Theo family.

Crafted in a new cotton-based Signature Jacquard, the bag offers a soft, refined hand feel while maintaining the familiarity of Coach’s classic fabric. Lighter in weight and water-resistant, the material supports bold color exploration and everyday practicality. Refined leather accents, including a logo-embossed patch, add subtle luxury without compromising its youthful attitude.

Functionality anchors the design, with a front zipper pocket for quick access, a laptop sleeve that fits a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and a trolley sleeve for travel. Designed for daily use and travel alike, the Theo Backpack embodies sleek minimalism and a forward-looking design language.
