PHANTOM CLASSIC CLOG
I developed a concept exploration of the Crocs Classic Clog, reimagining the silhouette through storytelling, material play, and collaboration opportunities. The project included two iterations that tested translucent details, knit applications, and co-branded customization, blending innovation with brand heritage. This independent study envisioned how Crocs could evolve its classic clog through playful collaborations targeting a new generation of consumers.

Story:
The Phantom Classic Clog was a concept project inspired by Nickelodeon’s early 2000s cartoon Danny Phantom. Reimagining what the character might wear on his “off day,” the design merged comfort with playful storytelling. Built on Crocs’ iconic clog silhouette, the project introduced two distinct iterations that balanced recognizable brand DNA with new performance-driven details.
The clog is constructed using Crocs’ patented Croslite foam paired with a recycled, engineered PrimeKnit upper for a snug, sock-like fit. A translucent heel strap referenced Danny’s phantom identity, while slime-green midsoles and black uppers reflected his signature color palette. Custom co-branded Jibbitz added a layer of playful customization and collectability.
Innovation came through a tabby split-toe design, a first for Crocs, engineered to increase mobility and comfort. This speculative design highlighted how storytelling, sustainability, and experimentation in form could expand a classic silhouette for new audiences.
